The inspiration behind acclaimed stage director and playwright Milja Sarkola’s latest play is a true story about a real-life Gunnel and her self-imposed solitude.

About Svenska Teatern
Svenska Teatern (the Swedish Theatre) in Helsinki is a Finnish national theatre performing in Swedish – Finland’s second official language. Most of our performances are surtitled into Finnish, Swedish, and occasionally also into English.
The theatre is located right in the heart of Helsinki. Three different stages offer theatre for all tastes.
Svenska Teatern offers a broad repertoire of both domestic and international plays that caters to everyone – from classics to newly written and from big musicals to children’s plays.
Svenska Teatern produces several productions each year. In addition, the repertoire consists of special guest performances and co-productions with other theatres and groups.
Svenska Teatern is committed to audience engagement and outreach, offering a broad range of events in addition to the theatre repertoire.
