Welcome to spend Helsinki Night of the Arts at Svenska Teatern. On going program from 17.30 – everything is free!

Costume try-on
19.15-21.30, Main Stage
The annual costume try-ons will be hosted on the Main Stage. Over the years, the theatre’s costume department has designed magnificent and unique pieces for countless productions. A selection of the theater’s most extraordinary costumes will be available for our audience to try on, only during the Night of the Arts! Costumes for children of all ages will also be available.

Backstage tour
18.00-21.00, starting from the cloakroom on the right-hand side
Explore areas of the theatre that you normally wouldn’t be able to access. The route will take you through the theatre workshops where the sets are made, the costume storage, the laundry room and through hidden staircases and corridors. Members of the theatre’s staff are available throughout the tour to tell you more about their work!
The tour lasts approximately 30 min.

PALEFACE + TOVE + TUULIKKI
19.00-21.30, AMOS-stage
Musician Karri Miettinen, also known under his artistname Paleface, takes us along on a musical journey into Tove Jansson and Tuulikki Pietilä’s private vinyl collection. Join us for a dance or a drink or just enjoy the music.

A peaceful moment in the world on little bugs
17.30-19.45 for young children, NICKEN-stage
Welcome to the magical world of the little bugs. The NICKEN stage offers a calm space for our youngest visitors, and a chance to explore the set of our children’s production “På besök hos småkrypen”. Maximum 20 visitors at a time.

A calm oasis
20.00-21.30 for adults only, NICKEN-stage
The space of our smallest stage NICKEN, is transformed into a quiet oasis for adults. Take a break from the excitement of the Night of the Arts and enjoy the forest’s soothing sounds.

Tattoo studio
17.30, spegelsalen
Always dreamt of getting a tattoo? Having a hard time choosing a design? We’re here to help you! We offer two tattoo choices inspired by this year’s performances. The tattoo studio is open while supplies last. The tattoos are non-permanent.

Season opening
18-18.45, Main Stage
Join us in celebrating the opening of a new theatre season! During this one-hour event, we will present the upcoming repertoire for the 2025-2026 season. Participants include stage directors, actors, and other theatre staff. The event will be hosted by the theatre’s Artistic Director, Joachim Thibblin.
Langugare: Swedish.
Free entry. Prebooking is recommended, but some spots are available onsite.
