The collaboration with Interkult to bring these concerts to Svenska Teatern reflects a shared commitment to artistic openness, intercultural dialogue and cultural exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Together with Interkult, we want to open up for encounters between different musical traditions and create new entry points to the theatre for a broader audience,” <\/em>says theatre director Joachim Thibblin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme opens on 7 October 2026 with Manu Rosales & Volver Siguiendo, presented as part of the Nomads Festival. Argentina-born composer and performer Manu Rosales, now based in Finland, leads an eight-member transnational ensemble whose music draws on the song traditions of Buenos Aires alongside Brazilian and Andean influences. Through diverse instrumentation and a collaborative artistic process, the ensemble creates a rich and evocative soundscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Arabic musical traditions to jazz and Persian classical music<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On 30 October 2026, Wishamalii (FI\/JO) takes the stage. Bringing together Palestinian-Jordanian singer and oud player Nemat Battah, award-winning Finnish pianist Kari Ikonen and Ethiopian-born percussionist Abdissa Assefa, the trio creates a distinctive musical world where Arabic musical traditions, jazz, improvisation and contemporary expression meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series concludes on 19 December 2026 with Mehrnoosh Zolfaghari \u2013 Awakening. In this concert programme, the composer and santur player leads an eight-member ensemble that bridges Persian classical music, jazz and contemporary influences. Traditional rhythms merge with modern textures in a dynamic and immersive performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
